Autism management

Managing autism is often a challenge for parents. It often depends on the extent of the autism. This can sometimes range from mild, such as a an asperger's syndrome type to more severe types.

Managing autism relies heavily creating a suitable environment for the autistic person. It may be important to maintain a high level of consistency in their room or home, from physical placement of objects to routines. Though those routines should be set by things that a carer can control, eg meal times. It may be possible to set up complex routines but still have a pattern. Diet may also be helpful in aleviating possible secondary depressive symptoms in some autistic sufferers.

Univeristy of California Santa Barbara Autism Research and Training Center Home Page provides recent research, training, research manuals and workshops and number of books related to the field of autism management strategy.
