The Doomsday Book, what is it? The doomsday book more properly called the Domesday book, is an ancient census, or survey, of the value of real estate in England completed in the year 1086. It is actually two seperate books. Little Domesday deals with Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, is a bit bigger. The Great Domesday deals with the rest of England. References sources:
