Two new moons for Saturn

17 August 2004
by Richard Conan-Davies

As Cassini-Huygens space probe orbits around Saturn, its' on board cameras have picked up the tell tale signs of two new moons around the ringed planet.

The new moons are claimed to be one of the smallest moons at around 2-3km across, and brings the count of moons from 33 to 35.

First noticed by Dr. Sebastien Charnoz he told NASA "I had looked for such objects for weeks while at my office in Paris, but it was only once on holiday, using my laptop, that my code eventually detected them. This tells me I should take more holidays."
